I love this place. Great hiking and swimming!
My husband and I visited Blue Heron back in 2008. I'm sure a lot has changed, I believe they were doing some restoration. Even so, we were impressed with what things they did have. It was like stepping back in time. No need for a tour guide, there were lots of things to read and look at. It was almost as if the coal miners were still there.
Very interesting and informative loved it . Coal cars on site, along with several other coal mining equipment. Rangers very helpful and friendly.
Raining today, but I'm still going to explore. Lots of history displays. Well thought out . Two Rangers here willing to help
