We had a great time on the Polar Express!! The singing and dancing down the aisle and the cookies and hot chocolate was wonderful. Everyone was so friendly.
Worth the day trip if you have an interest in seeing how coal miners worked and lived. You get to peer into the actual entrance of Blue Heron Mine #18. Then, make sure you stick around for Ranger Doug's informative presentation which gives you a real feel for the mining life. You will leave there enlightened! We purchased rail tickets only, not the lunch combo. You can pack a lunch, as small coolers are permitted.
So the website is not clear about what happens on this ride. Staff are all dressed in costume reminiscent of the story. Children were all wearing PJs... I wish I had known. Also the story is played as ee ride and many brought their own book. I wish I had known. Id do it again regardless!!!
Beautiful place.. love trains.. Polar Express was fun . A little pricey for a small child... Extremely sweet and friendly people.. they did a great job!!
What a great experience! The volunteers do an amazing job. I love seeing all the children singing,dancing, and having a wonderful time. It's great to see all the families showing up all dressed alike. The depot is is beautiful!
